Lovers at Central Texas Ranch

This is a good one. They have been married for 29 years and met while playing tennis. Mary said she didn’t know a thing about the game but she won because she scored a first date with him. ;)

For more than two decades they have lived on a ranch where he built her their dream home with a view just outside of Smithville, TX.

He loves to drive his corvette down the canopy road and ride around the ranch with their dog Katie. They are getting older and decided to move closer to their grandchildren so they recently sold the ranch to some of my friends. As a result, a beautiful relationship has formed between them as they’re passing down a legacy to a new family to enjoy.

They insisted I take photos of Ed and Mary as a gift for them and to commemorate their time at the ranch together and I love how thoughtful this was. They plan to keep one in the house with a wooden frame Ed made for them by hand.

You’ll see the infamous red corvette as well as Ed pushing Mary on a swing he built for her. It has their initials carved on it and it was one of the first things they did when the ranch was ready to move into.

These two are still as madly in love as newlyweds. I asked them what the secret was and he said, "there’s no secret. Life has felt so easy from the moment they met. Marry the person that makes you feel at ease.” It’s hard to miss the twinkle in his eye every time he catches a glimpse of her.

This session was a highlight of 2020 for me and I left with a heart so full.
