Buckle up, baby. We’re going for a ride down memory lane.
My most significant wedding of 2020 was Brooke and Trey’s. They said “fuck it” to the wedding rules and created a celebration all their own, including treating me like a guest and not just a photographer. When I sat down to eat at the rehearsal dinner, their whole family knew I was Lauren from Texas; Brooke’s best friends considered me one of the girls; and I danced the night away and stayed up until the sunrise with all of her friends.
I did my best work of that year that weekend because of one thing: vulnerability.
Brooke and Trey truly saw me for who I was, just like I saw them for who they were. We pushed past perfection into something much better, much braver — reality. That kind of authenticity and connection cracked me open emotionally, and it literally changed my life.
From that weekend forward, I’ve worked to make sure every wedding I photograph is just as vulnerable, just as raw, just as connected as that one.
Because when that occurs, magic happens.

If you can’t tell by now, play is a pretty big deal for me. Your wedding should be fun, and I always make sure that comes through in the photos.

Because wedding and lifestyle photography is about celebrating who you really are. Fake smiles and photoshopping just aren’t my jam.

I’ve always loved traveling. I studied abroad in Barcelona while I got my psychology and art history degree at Texas State.
I've never baked a cake but I've watched every episode of Great British Bake-Off. 2022 goal?
