With each wedding, I ask my couples to be open and honest to capture their wedding images. It’s only fair that I do the same.
So, here’s an awkward truth about me
I’m not married.
I didn’t grow up dreaming of my wedding day. For many years, I was somewhat cynical about the idea of marriage.
And yet, I couldn’t be more in love with this work.
Wedding photography has cracked me open
I once fell in love at a wedding and dated him for three years. I will always love that story because it placed me in a heart space that I've never left –
documenting weddings like I could fall in love, too.
It’s shown me how bright a person can shine when they are brave enough to put their heart in someone else’s hand. It hasn’t made me jaded about my own love lost; it’s made me hopeful. Eager. Being thrust into that amount of vulnerability changed me forever.
As I watch each of my couples get married, I’m building a case study of how spectacular a relationship can be, and how one day I will have that, too.
