Colorful Wedding Inspiration with a Pancake Dessert

I have been dying to see more bold colors and designs in the wedding industry. This shoot was a colorful, dream come true to create with a talented team of friends.

My friend JP owns the very first pancake truck in Texas and the only one in Austin. They offer hand-whisked, gourmet dessert pancakes and have gained a lot of popularity in the event space!

I am constantly hearing more and more of my couples feeling undecided about having cake at their wedding because it’s just not their favorite. I totally get it! You know me, I’m always preaching to do whatever the hell you want to. If breakfast is more your thing, I think this would be such a fun and unique offering at a wedding! It could be a late night snack or even the main dessert.

Colorful Design Inspiration

The shoot was designed around a cute new studio on the East side of Austin called Mira Mira Photo Studio. It has tons of variety with both indoor and outdoor spaces that have great natural light! With puffy-sleeved wedding gowns as all the rage right now, I knew I wanted to incorporate that through the bridal gown. And while I’m not always down to chase trends, I have been really drawn to the style because of the romance it brings to a look.

One of my favorite parts was giving everyone involved in the day inspo to start with and then seeing what their own creativity came up with. For the makeup, I sent Andrea multiple Euphoria-inspired looks but I still wanted it to feel bridal. She created a bold, colorful eye look with fresh skin that absolutely popped on Alexis. She killed it. And the florals, I die. Megan nailed it and basically created “ME” as a bouquet.

My sweet friends Alexis and her fiancé Brad were the perfect duo for this shoot. They are so much fun and brought all the personality!

This was a special experience seeing a vision come to life and creating with other artists I admire. JP and I both started our businesses around the same time and have discussed some kind of collaboration for a couple of years now but I’m so glad we waited until it felt right. We are SO proud of what we created. ✨
