AUSTIN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

What to Expect

Maybe you haven’t had pictures taken before and that’s… totally okay. I want you to know that you do NOT need to come in knowing anything about being in front of a camera other than being yourself. Cheesy, but hear me out.

I know it’s tempting to feel like you constantly need to be camera-ready with the perfect pose and hair fixed and standing up straight and keeping an eye on me and my every move in case I catch you off guard but please —

Exhale.

…know that I expect nothing from you other than to show up. That’s what these photos are really for, right? Celebrating the real you.

Because my absolute favorite pictures I’ve ever taken, I didn’t really have to try, and they didn’t either.

Did that take some of the pressure off? I really hope so. :)

But if you’re one of those that needs to know the details, I get it. I can tell you that we will probably talk a lot! (or at least I will haha). I might also go quiet and that’s nothing to feel alarmed about. Sometimes I just let you be. I might ask you questions, I will direct you and tell you where to go and what to do. Movement helps create natural imagery so no need to be really still when I’m shooting. Better yet, imagine that I’m filming you versus just taking pictures.

I am also open to hearing any of your suggestions that spark your creativity! I want this to feel more like a collaboration versus transactional. And most importantly, I want you to have fun.

Some More Tips

  • Please show up on time, dressed and ready to go so that you can have your full shoot time.

  • Make sure to moisturize any skin that will be showing.

  • If you don’t like your outfits, you aren’t going to like your photos. Make sure you wear something you’re absolutely confident in. If you need help with what to wear, don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • When shooting outdoors, we are sometimes pretty active. I would suggest bringing a comfy pair of shoes to walk in and then change into another pair if you wish!

  • Bad weather: If this hinders your shoot, I will try my best to get you rescheduled without penalty.

  • DOGS/PETS: Fur babies are ALWAYS welcome and you know your pets the best. In order to minimize stress here are some tips

    • Wear them out before the session so they are nice and tired. ;)

    • Bring a squeaker toy or treats to get their attention.

    • If we’re not shooting at your home have a friend to either help handle them when they’re not being photographed or to come and get them when their portion is complete.

A few reminders
